Sometimes, the best getaways are the ones that are just around the corner. Our recent staycation took us to Live Oak Lake, a serene hideaway nestled in the woods of Waco, Texas. Just an hour’s drive from home, this gem offered us the perfect retreat to wind down and reconnect.
Live Oak Lake is a gated community boasting seven stunning modern tiny homes, each designed with meticulous attention to detail. For our stay, we chose the Lakeside South Cabin, an intimate abode perfect for two. This charming cabin provided everything we needed: a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bath, laundry facilities, and reliable wi-fi. The absence of a television encouraged us to be more present, a refreshing change from our usual routine.
After checking in, our afternoon was filled with simple joys. We indulged in a variety of board games provided, including dominoes and Jenga. At sunset, the tranquil lake view and the soothing sounds of nature served as the perfect backdrop to our relaxation. At was at this point we gathered around the fire pit, its crackling sounds enhancing the peaceful ambiance.
Live Oak Lake is a beautifully maintained property, a true testament to thoughtful hospitality and design. Our stay was nothing short of amazing, and we left feeling rejuvenated and eager for a return visit. Next time, we plan to stay even longer, soaking in more of the tranquility this lovely spot offers.
